Investment Manager (m/f/x) - Munich

For our M&A team, we are seeking an Investment Manager (m/f/x) in our Munich office, starting as soon as possible.

Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, Munich (www.mutares.com), as a listed private equity holding company, acquires medium-sized companies in special situations, which show significant operational improvement potential and are sold again after undergoing a repositioning and stabilization process. Mutares actively supports its portfolio companies with its own investment and operations teams and through strategic add-on acquisitions. The focus is on companies with revenues ranging from EUR 100 million to EUR 750 million, across various industries. The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long-term growth of the portfolio company.

Your Tasks

  • Review and assess inbound investment opportunities through detailed analysis of teasers, CIMs, and confidential presentation material

  • Build financial models and perform return sensitivities and scenario analyses to support investment evaluations and assess the impact of key assumptions on expected returns

  • Prepare investment screening memos for the Investment Committee (IC) by consolidating investment rationale, key findings, and financial insights into structured decision documents

  • Manage projects during the due diligence phase

  • Coordinate tasks around signing and closing, such as maintaining transaction checklists and supporting the review of key commercial terms to ensure smooth execution

Your Profile

  • Successfully completed a Finance degree with outstanding results

  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in Investment Banking (M&A), Transaction Services / Deal Advisory, Corporate M&A, or Private Equity, with a strong focus on transaction execution

  • Strong analytical skills and proven experience in financial modelling, as well as strong project management skills, with the ability to manage parallel workstreams

  • Ability to take ownership and work independently in a lean, fast‑moving team

  • Business fluency in German and English, with the ability to communicate in a well-structured and concise manner
